To create an “Aging in Place Campus” on the site of the present Boyne Lodge that encompasses several options for seniors housing, developed over multiple phases.

Present Project

A new approximately 52-bed Assisted Living Facility on the east side of the new Boyne Lodge structure. The facility will be linked to the personal care home allowing for indoor access to the entire facility and all the amenities. This new facility will be owned and operated by Boyne Care Holdings (2016) Inc. building on the vision of a complete and holistic “Aging in Place” environment.

Because it is still structurally sound, the existing Boyne Lodge will undergo extensive renovations to make available:

  • New office space to be leased by Southern Health-Santé Sud;

  • 26 additional long-term care beds that will conform with the small-house model and meet or exceed modern standards.

Completed Projects

A new 79-bed Personal Care Home (PCH) co-located with the original Boyne Lodge structure, designed in the small-house model and meeting or exceeding modern standards for long term seniors’ care.

The original Boyne Lodge was renovated to make available:

  • New office space leased by Southern Health-Santé Sud;

  • 26 additional long-term care beds that conform with the small-house model and meet or exceed modern standards.

  • Boyne River Bistro- a new restaurant for the community with large dining area, private dining room and patio.

Future Phases

Renovations and changes to the function of the Boyne Towers to a mixed housing model including Supportive Housing, which would be operated under an agreement with Southern Health-Santé Sud, conditional on operational funding from Manitoba Health.

Upon confirmation of demand, development of life-lease apartments, also integrated into the campus, to complete the “Aging in Place” vision; potential future development of assisted living housing in surrounding communities to extend the “Aging in Place” opportunities.
